Just looking to see if anyone has any experience with the Tein street advance coils. They're being sold for a pretty good price on ebay, the link is here http://www.ebay.com/itm/TEIN-STREET-ADVANCE-ADJUSTABLE-COILOVERS-FOR-00-03-MAXIMA-MADE-IN-JAPAN-/130707634789?fits=Year%3A2003%7CMake%3ANissan%7CModel%3AMaxima&hash=item1e6ec83a65&vxp=mtr.
Anyone have any opinions/cautions to add if I'd purchase these?

They're great! I just installed mine a few weeks ago and haven't had any problems at all. If you get them, plan on adding $300-400 for additional parts like strut mounts, bolts, nuts, washers, spacers, etc. Or you could just use the stuff already on your car, but then you'll have to compress the springs. I would advise to just get new stuff though.

Awesome! How was the install? And did you need any camber adjustment?

The install wasn't too bad at all. It took me about 8 hours, but it's all really straight forward. The top two nuts in the rears are a little hard because there is a brace/cowl around them. What I did was I just removed all the nuts of the brace/cowl that I could get to, so that I could bend it back enough to slip a 1/2inch ratchet in. Or you could skip all of that and try to use a really small 1/4 inch ratchet. I was able to use a 1/4 inch on of them, but my hands are too big and I wasn't able to get the other with the 1/4 inch. As far as the fronts, the two knuckle bolts are torqued down like crazy. You're gonna want a pipe to put over your ratchet to get extra leverage. But that's about it. As far as camber, I did not need adjustment at all, and you shouldn't either. If someone tells you that your camber is really bad, make sure to get a second opinion. The range of camber allowed for our cars is 1 degree positive/negative. I had 0.6 degrees of negative camber on my front right and 0/0.1 degrees of negative camber on my front left. And the rear camber can't be adjusted, so don't worry about it.
street advance is the new name they introduced a few years ago. I think it is very similar to TEIN SS , so if u want org info search for TEIN SS (super street) or something like that.
or just doin TEIN coil over and u will find stuff, u gotta be clever searching around here but it is all there and plenty of it.

That's great man! Did they come pre-assembled or did you have to assemble them yourself? (If you bought them from the same guys in the ebay link I posted.)

That's what I figured, but wasn't 100% sure. Just wanting to be confident in my purchase, it isn't cheap for me haha.

They come assembled as much as possible. Here is a picture of what mine looked like when I got them. The parts that aren't on the assembly are parts you either have to buy or reuse from your suspension.
Rear:
Front: (The silver spring seat to the left on the fronts comes with the coilovers)

Thanks for all the info man, you've been a great help!
I decided to go with Vogtland springs on Stagg struts. It's just going to be more pracitcal for me at a better price. Installing them next week so I'll let you know how it goes!
Step up a little bit and get the K-Sport Kontrol coilovers.
You can independently set up the tension and ride height. It's nice to be able to dial in the height without adjusting the tension to do it.
The front also come with the camber plates as part of them. They all come fully installed with the mounts. Just bolt them in. Nothing else to buy, reuse or put together.
I put a set on last year and really like them. Better handling and way smoother over bumps than the Illuminas and Eiboch springs I had before. I never really liked the way they drove and they sucked over bumps.
I almost bought the Teins but I'm glad I got the K-sports. They were only a little more but come with more as well. Camber plates, mounts etc...
Tein's are great. I basically gave my illuminas away after switching. Still can't get rid of the H&R set. I use the EDFC so pushing a button to adjust dampening is pretty easy. With the EDFC I am only in to it for $800. I am very happy where my money went. I have had them on for a while with losts of racing, and flying around country roads. The EDFC automatically adjust to my driving, easy or hard. Keeps up pretty good.
Does spring tension matter that much if ride height is constant and dampening is auto adjusted (or set by the push of a button).
But pillowball mounts.... the reasons TEINS felt really nice because they utlitized the stock shock mounts....
and by spring tension do you mean u need to compress them to change the height?
i do agree the camber plates are nice tho and may make up for pillowball mounts

ahhh !! really good to know... i was definately wondering how $1200 TIEN coils kinda went down half in price... makes sens.

Yes. The height in the Teins is adjusted by compressing the springs. The more you compress them the lower the car goes. The compression also determines the stiffness and amount of travel but you have to choose the height you want and live with the compression that gets you there. You can't "tune" the compression.
On the K-Sports you set up the spring compression you actually want first. After that you can dial in the height without changing that compression.
Basically, the independent settings let you tune the suspension much more finely. You can set the tension where you want it and adjust each one while maintaining the height you want.
How important that is up to you. I wouldn't pull out a working set of Teins just for the upgrade but if you're starting from scratch...
I think I only spent around $800 shipped for the K-Sports.
