break-in period almost over
I never could, though would try for about a week
Plus, you don't think your new car was ever test driven by someone with a heavy right foot?
I'm sure if it was such a huge deal for today's engines, there would be a disclaimer in the new car, just like everything else, from Toyota's Don't drive as fast as tested in the New Celica, and Caution Hot, No Du, on MCDonalds coffe cup. I mean, if lead footing your car around after you bought it, hurt the engine, and their is no disclaimer, thats a lot of repair work for the car maker.
I know when building push-rod iron block american engines, I do allow it to brake in, so the the rings and other factors I don't really see in most new cars "break-in".
