Turbo Timer?

Hey,

How hard is it to install a turbo timer on a 99 maxima. I am just curious if it is any different than other cars. Especially with the imobalizer chip in the key?

If anyone has instructions that would be great.

Thanks for the info.

I don't think on the 99's it should be a major issue, cause I think you need the key to get it running, not really keep it running. I have a timer in my 98 and it was a simple enough install. I can provide more info if you need it.

not sure about 99 though..

this is the instructions from Harold (hlh0501) for the Blitz Turbo Timer.. all in all it took 7 mins.. very simple

The two black wires , just ground them on anything under the dash. you will need to find all your ignition wires, you can find that by pulling off that big cover where your knees are in the car, two screws and its off.. look for abundle of wires going to the key area.

BLITZ HARNESS ----> MAXIMA ignition harness wire
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'95 - '98
red ----- > white w/ purple stripe
green ----> black w/ red stripe
blue -------> white w/ blue stripe

hope that helps, oh and the purple wire for the brake - needs to either be grounded, or, connect to brake wire (behind brake pedal - up under the dash) its red with green stripe.......

The 99's are an odd bunch of cars. You can check a FSM or try

www.the12volt.com

You may have to register to see all the info you want. But it is well worth it. Freebie site.

I have a set of wiring diagrams for a 98... you may want to look at mine and see how your colors look in comparison, all the ignition wires are super easy to get to. Even Sprint's diagram should be a good starting point.

Your other option... go to a local stereo/alarm place and ask them for the printout of the wiring for when they do an Alarm install. That should have more than enough info.

Do you think I could look at yours. They may be quite close. I might just see if Nigel will help me out with it since he has already don it to his 97.

Thanks

The chip is only needed to start the car. Just like Sprite, I also have the DTT DCII. Check out Blitz's site for the 2 different TT's they offer.

Nope , but I have a Clifford Matrix (I think it is RS4). Probably have similar problems ... No time to wire it up yet.

on the G4 alarm if you want to arm your car while your turbo timer is on you have to bypass it. its tricky but not impossible.
