SC troubleshooting scenario

No search for this one...if belts break and pump no longer works, will the car still run as if it just had air flowing thru the piping from the edge of the blower...I saw a post a bit back when the belt broke and the memebr said he was NA for now but saw nothing about the potential for the car to still run without the blower...any other considerations for normal operation if this happens?

what about fuel issues that may be present if the blower is not boosting?

if the belt breaks... you're going to need your original belt obviously... I'm not sure if the sc bracket/ idler pulley is in the way.. but for sure, you need to plug the oil feed line, as well as the return line... you probably want to switch back to ur normal plugs, if you're running 1 step colder ones...

There's more, but at 6 in the morning, this is all thats coming to me

First off your going to need to remove the Blower out of the car, you will need to pinch the one of the vacuum lines and your going to need to put the belt adjuster pulley back on and the CAI filter on the cross over and your car will run and plug the oil return plate. That is what Mardigrasmax did when he sent his blower back to Vortech. As far as your fuel goes when you boost is when the fuel pressure goes up. Nothing will happen if the FMU is on and no boost. If your that worried just disconnect the FMU from the battery.

Re: SC troubleshooting scenario

this all depends on the scenario you are talking about..

if your in transit and your belt breaks, then you will only go as far as your battery will take you.. 20 min?

if your pump blows (inline t-rex) your good to go.. just no boosting. if you have the walbro, your dead in your tracks.

if you are talking about the belt braking and your somewhere that can fix the car you probably can hook up the oem belt or a slightly longer one if the idler pulley is in the way. matt had to plug his oil line becuase there was no s/c on the car. if the s/c is there you can probably still drip it through the blower. FMU is boost dependant, no battery hook up there. If you have the inline, hopefully you have it on its own fused connection to the battery.. just pull the fuse if your worried.

it will run, weakly.....my belt broke 2 weeks ago and I drove 10 miles on battery back to where I live. A good battery will last for 30 minutes. Optima battery may run a bit longer.
