Will.. I had the 3.33 and I blew my tranny about 1 month after using it.. Auto's just can't hold up when you run that much boost.. But then again there is a huge difference going from a 3.6" to a 3.125".. Boost is addicting, you always want more power.. Hey I got the stock 3.6 still here.. I'll even trade ya on the 3.125". I wanna go smaller

Just stick with the 3.25

I have gone through two SC. Yes two. My tranny is holding up fine. I have a '96 auto with Don's VB and tranny cooler as the only tranny mod. I had a 3.125 pulley on both the V2 and V1 SC. I started out with the 3.33 on the V2 though. Btw, I definitely did not take it easy on the car with the SC. Maybe I'm lucky that my tranny hasn't blown yet. If I kept the SC, my next step would have been swapping in the 2.87" pulley. So go with the smaller pulley, the stock 3.60" won't be enough, it will feel weak IMO.

Btw, if anyone want, I still have the 2.87" pulley for sale.

Go with the smaller pulley, you'll regret having to pay to get it swapped later or having to do it yourself. With the stock pulley, you feel it, but it doesn't improve performance that much.

You can have the smaller pulley, just get a boost gauge and watch your boost level. Just because you can make 10 psi, doesn't mean you have to everytime you boost. But having the extra power available will come in handy .

My opinion, leave the 3.25 pulley in there. Your foot will determine how long your tranny lives. Just by having the pulley in there does not mean your car will boost all the time. You can be on the freeway running 110MPH and never boost. I hope you understand that. You punch it hello boost you drive normally no boost. I have the 3.25 driving normally all I see is vacuum 5Hgs plus<---just an example.

Ditto here, only I'm a wimp with a 3.33" pulley for now. Went S/C'd on the July long weekend, and went 3.33 in November. The tranny has held up just the same as with the 3.6" - just remember it depends on your driving too!

Car has 91,000km's, blower installed at 68,100km's! You figure it out in miles

powerwise - 3.125

save your tranny - 3.6

but remember, SC is linear power increase and you will feel the power at highend. With a 3.6, you prob will see a 5 psi near redline at WOT. You will not be happy with all the money you've spent. Plus it is hard to go to the redline with auto tranny on 1st and 2nd unless you manual shift. I was going to go for the 3.6 initally and my seller told the same thing as I mentioned here.

IMO - 3.33 with CAI.

my 3.33 with stillen intake gets 7 psi at 6000 2nd gear and 5 psi at 5500 on 3rd.

about your tranny....like many others suggested to you. Driving style affects it the most. I would also consider the age/condition of your tranny and your past driving style (were you a stop light to stop light racing freak??). If you shift like a granny, even with a 2.87 pulley, it will not hurt your tranny.

Stay with the 3.25. Jay25 has a very good point about how you can go really fast and not boost at all, and yea, your foot will determine how long your tranny holds up. For me my tranny was already on its way out when the SC w/ 3.33" went in, I lost 1st and reverse after the first month, but then again boosting almost like 3 times a day for the first 2K miles didn't do good either. Boost is addicting, but after my tranny rebuild I decided to lay off the pedal a little, at least until I find all the parts for the 5-spd conversion which I'm in no hurry right now. If you could possibly convert before installing the SC, that could be cool, that's one thing I would have done before installing my SC. But yea, I couldn't see how I would have gone with the stock 3.6", I'm pretty sure the stock pulley would have blown my tranny too.

Good Luck with it. It also depends on the condition of your tranny, some people may have had no problems but there tranny's are in near immaculate condition, where as others have tranny problems straight from the factory.

So test it out bro, with the smaller pulley.
