FMU Disc question

FMU Disc question

Took my FMU apart tonight just to see what it was made of, and was wondering which part was the "disc" that controls fuel flow. The gold plate, or the silver ring?

Also, in the silver ring there's a "notch" in the bottom of it. Does the alignment of it matter?

In my case both the washer and the ring are silver... but you will find that they are a combined unit...you do not use the same washer with a different ring or vice versa... so every FMU recal is actually 3 pieces, the ring, the washer, and the blue diaphram thing. The part that actually controls the fuel, I would think it has to do with the volume of the space held withing the ring/washer.

The alignment of the notch means nothing. Congrats, and enjoy.

Another questions. I read somewhere that you can measure the diameter of the disc to see which you have to make sure its correct (mabye Kevin posted it?).

Does anyone know those measurments and what diamater you measure?

It's on Vortech's site

and I believe you measure the ring, but I could be wrong.

FMU Disc Size

4:1 = 1.59"
6:1 = 1.85"
8:1 = 2.22"
10:1 = 2.47"

This is the disc size. The big flat washer looking deal.
