A few pics

My gauges and my engine bay. Gauges I have are EGT and boost on the A pillar, full sweep fuel pressure, oil temp and oil pressure below the radio.

Please excuse the diry hood, it rained that morning.

I'm gonna be in San Marcos next week, wanna take me for a ride?

Gauges look nice, it also appears that pollen is abundant in your area of Tejas as well

The gauges look really good man. I want to do some gauges in my dash sometime too. Very nice interior.

The engine bay looks functional, that's for sure. Do you think that header wrap really works to make a significant difference in HP/TQ?

Re: Re: A few pics

Thanks for all the kind remarks, guys.

Larrio, for the center console gauges, I bought a piece of black acrylic, .125" thick, iirc. I had one of our machinists cut it to size and mill out the holes in a CNC mill (one of the advantages of having a machine shop where I work). I bought him lunch at the Vietnamese noodle shop in return.

Craig, I have no data to support any gain in power from the thermal insulation, but in theory it can't hurt and probably does help. I was surprised at how much heat soaks into the pipe from the front exhaust header, so I wrapped it with foam insulation and then reflective tape over that. I have a way to measure the intake air temperature, and before I wrapped the pipe I was measuring about 150F after a couple of boosted runs on a 70F day. I haven't measured it since, but maybe I will tomorrow, since you bring this up. But I also added the CAI since then, so any reduction in temperature in the intake air is going to include that effect as well.

As for the "functional look", I've always appreciated the old adage, "form follows function".

Hi there, Jim. Your old SC kit looks pretty good in my engine bay, doesn't it?

Yes, I'm glad it went to a good home. I still miss it now and then *sniff*
