The Sard one sounds pretty high pitched too... a little less than the HKS SSQ one though. My brother had one before going to the HKS.

Hmm, I have a friend on the org who is thinking about selling his HKS SSQ BOV from his SC'ed Maxima. Try emailing him and see if he'll sell his. His org handle is hooktup98SE.

Try this link, BOV sound files. He was thinking of getting the Greddy Type-S like mine, but he might just keep his and get one of those valve inserts.

this is the R2D2 "thru type" (or at least the last model)-->

and the angle type is here-->

http://www.takakaira.com/performance/sard/r2d2_1.jpg

I've heard the angle type, but it has the "whistle" sound to it...I like the "swooosh" sound better, as far as the sounds go I think Turbo XS Type H and RFL are the nicest!
