99 SC bracket

well i went ahead and tried to see if it was going to fit on my built 97 max motor. it lines up perfectly. everything fits just where it is supposed to. therefore, stillen is so bull****ing about the different brackets for the 99 and the 98 and older. i will know if there are any belt issues by the end of the week. htat is when we should be able to bolt all the pumps and pulleys and drop it in the car. later.

Interesting...

This is a 99 kit on a non-99 correct? Wonder if they are problems the other way? I remember reading about someone who had problems...dunno who though.

Re: 99 SC bracket

The contact point on the bracket to the timing chain cover on the '99s are narrower than the previous years. If you use the previous year's bracket on 99, you may crack the t-c cover and it will start leaking oil. I don't believe there are any other major differences including all the contact points. Therefor, you should be able to use the 99 bracket on the previous year engine. You can probably use non-99 bracket, but the stress caused by the contact point will eventually crack the timing chain cover.
