I saw on_alert's custom turbo this evening. We didn't race or anything because he's still breaking in a clutch and I'm not big on street racing.

Fit and finish is amazing. The amount of work he put into this thing is just crazy.

Didn't get to take a ride (as there were lost of other people there who wanted to), but I'm sure it rocks.

Can't wait to do a head to head between his turbo and my SC at the track!

amazing, eh? once I saw Kevin's turbo max and had a ride in it. I kinda regret getting the SC. But....with my skill and knowledge, I better stick with the SC.

turbo pulls a lot harder (4psi is already pulling harder than 2.87 pulley).....it sucked you into the seat, hard...

I wonder how's Kevin's juice bottle install.

What about downshifts? For example, one would think a downshift into second gear @40mph would be about as strong in a super as it is in a turbo since theres tons off boost already built up.

right...but you are also close to redline and soon, you will have to upshift. Then rpm drops, boost gets lowered.
If I get the speed and rpm right....I can downshift my auto to the second at 55mph (about 2800rpm), it is a strong pull when it kicks to 5500 at 2nd gear, but it only last for a short period of time.

turbo...you get the full boost far before red line.

that is pretty nice. I wish they would come out with a full kit that could be installed. I guess I would go with the supercharger just for the reason of easier headacheless, problems. Sweet for the turbo though. Nice job

Seals blew because I am a moron...

**Lesson learned do not work on your car until 4 am by yourself...**

When putting the turbo back in after a laborious clutch install, I failed to take out the paper towel that was keeping dirt out of the return line. It did its job at keeping out the dirt, then it kept out oil... turbo had <100 miles on it, and had been boosted about 6 times...

Or at least make sure it's just something like a CAI - not that I would have any personal experience to base this opinion on.

My friend and I just got done installing a new Fuel damper/regulator, ECU and boost jets, All the intake hoses to the TB and the 2 hoses to the turbos were removed and there were papertowels shoved in those and he told me to start the car to make sure it starts and there wouldn't be any fuel leaks.
Start the car, runs smoothley, then I start to rev a little under his recomendation as well and the car feels like it's gonna stall.. after 3-4 times of this he just said to turn off the engine and we'll finish up. We get back under the hood and realize how stupid we were..
No damage though.
