Turbo selection

For you guys who have or planning on getting a turbo, did you leave the turbo selection to someone else or do you know exactly what you want or have. Did you do any research on deciding which turbo to use, or did you leave it to hearsay. Besides knowing you want or have a T3(whatever) or a T4(whatever) do you know the internal specs of your turbo. What's the A/R on both sides, do you know what trim/wheel is on both sides? This may seem like a stupid question (how can someone buy something they don't know about) or seem like I'm trying to pry some info out (kinda like how secretive the turbo feed pipes pics are) for what it's worth, I'm not. The debate between hybrid, T4, 60-1, etc. will go on for ever. For me if I had to choose a turbo for our 3.0 Max with good bottom/top end and from the different maps I've read I would have to choose a

T04E
.58 A/R on-center turbine housing
.70 compressor housing
V trim on the comp side
O trim on the turbine side

What's your opinion?

I use a t40e
.70 turbine, O trim, tangential
.60 compresser, ? trim

I make full boost about 3500 rpm, starts around 2800-3k
Was thinking of changing turbine hsg or y pipe design to lower that.
