how much power can the 4th gen transmission handle?
manual or auto?
auto is really hard to say.....it depends on its condition, driver's driving habit, amount of boost, etc. Seems like now a vb and tranny cooler is a must. I only know one auto tranny max that has over 300whp.
on the other hand, manual tranny can handle more power and it's more reliable.

Woo 300fwhp eh? So who is it, and what are they running?
I wanna beat that with my rebuild
I estimate about 280fwhp right now.. but we'll see!

i'd like to see a comparison somehow of vb'd auto vs act'd 5spd (reliability speaking)

I was talking about the 5sp tranny in case anyone cares anymore
I'm probably looking at running around 7 psi of boost when it all comes down to it. It sounds like I should have no problems using my stock tranny as long as I don't drive it like a maniac.

There are a few autos running more than steve is. Ferhan and i30krab come to mind. They've got built trannies also though. Ferhan should be at about 500whp when all is said and done (according to him) and i30krab was at 450whp last I heard.
