I went to a motor shop nearby and we talked about building the engine in the maxima. I think i am probably going to go down that road, but the prices for doing so are pretty steep.

I think I would be comfortable spending 4-5 grand on the engine, then another 4-5 grand to make it work (fuel managment, build transmission, mounts, halfshafts, etc)...
But then I get to thinking, I could sell the maxima and save that other 10 grand and invest it in something else. Dont get me wrong, I love the max, but I dont know if the returns are there. I mean, I could get a VR-4 and very easily get 6-700 hp for that kinda money...
I guess I am just rambling, and got a little off my own topic, but I am not sure what I should do... How far do you take a FWD sports-luxury sedan? And how aquireable are vq30det pistons and rods?

How easy they are to get I don't know, but I know both Tilley99 and I30Krab are using DET internals.

 

What are DET internals?

 

The DET is just like our engine except it has a turbo and is from japan.

 

i was lookin to buy this, but couldnt come up with more money to get the 5spd conversion
