manifold gasket problem...pics

ok so i was changing my spark plugs sunday and i noticed a problem.

the intake manifold gasket, the ruber one between the upper and lower plenum was poping out a little bit. it was poping out on the two middle runners. i was able to see the makes on the rubber gasket where the manifold accually clanpped down at. it was wierd i just pushed it back in but i think if i boost again it will pop out again.

anyone see this happen before. i didn't take any pictures cause it

totaly forgot i just pushed it in.

any ideas ???
here is a picture

on my web sight please take a looky.

note the shinny oily like substance all over the gasket. well i have that stuff alll alone the gasket. it seeps into the manifold and collects dust.

car seems to run ok but i cannot get past .67hkpa of boost.

me and slammed are suppose to work on the car this saturday but i would like any other suggestions.

like what is that oily substance cause it does not smell like motor oil.

Its normal to have a little oil in the intake manifold. The crankcase vent. hose vents some oily-air back into the intake path.

hard to see the second pic.. can you see past the gasket edge to the chamber hole (middle) of the gasket?

Just a thought, you won't know if its ripped until you loosen the manifold so you might as well have a new one handy and swap it out regardless. its really not that bad of a job.

ok i got a gasket hehehehe paid 3 bucks.....

now i have a breather coming off the crank case vent on the front valve cover.

i see another vent comming out of the rear valve cover right behind the tb and it hooks up to a hard line to the top off the main intake runner from the tb. could that be the oil bandit.

anyways andy im doing this ish tonight. if you are able to swing by and lend a hand that would be great hit me up.

yaaaaaaaay its fixed thank you slammed95 and 1fstmax for lending a hand.

so it turns out that the gasket riped on the part in between the middle two runners. the rest of the gasket showed signs off chapping as well. and the runners smelled like gasoline to when we removed it. i think slammed95 commented that his did not smell like that.
