RT Cat concern

Can someone tell me what a RT cat looks like when you look thru it.(form end to end) I thought you could not see thru it but now you can see right thru it. I looks like if it has been gutted.
But it has not.

I am getting a "3 way cat" code (I forget what the code is)

Can boost cause it to blow it open and hollow?
Boost did blow apart the B-pipe at one time and I had to get the seem welded shut.

I don't know about the RT cat specifically, but most cats have a ceramic honeycomb-like structure that you can see through, much the same way you could see through a bunch of straws if you look down them lengthwise. You should be able to see the walls of the honeycomb uniformly distributed across the width of the cat (for the OEM cat at least) unless it has been gutted.
