BOV Basics??

BOV Basics??
I am wondering if anyone can tell me the basics of the greddy type s bov, I know a bov is there to make your supercharger last longer and to bleed off psi. I just wanna know how I should set mine up in my car when I install the sc? I have a 5spd and almost always when running hard shift at 6000-6200, I am planning on running 9psi.

BOV doesn't bleed boost...it lets air out of the charge pipes to prevent backflow into the TC/SC under vaccum
and if you did "bleed" it using that method the car would stall out, thats like a psuedo air leak of sorts

Yeah what he said. Also you need to think about if you want the blow off just to be released or inserted back into the intake path. By the way, how does the BOV sound when it reverts back to the intake instead of just blowing straight off?

dont know
I don't have the sc yet and it isn't installed yet. what should it sound like? what is the cycle? I mean what sounds should it make ie half full and no throttle, in say third gear. should I put the air back into the airflow, and if so where at?

If you put it back in which helps certain things spoken in different topics on this forum, you add the pipe to before the blower. It also helps if you live in a stupid state like VA which does not allow engine gases (including blow off) escape. The BOV will blow off everytime you go vacumn so yes some times if you let off after half throttle it will blow off. Depends on if you were boosting before. Youll see once you get your boost guage in.

I think the greddy is just known to leak and even during vaccum, it still let out some air. I believe the purpose of this is for someone who's interested in converting the greddy to a recirculate valve.
