Anybody know how to bypass the SC?

I was wondering if any of you had a diagram or directions to bypass the SC. I figured I might as well do this and pass smog since the blower is already out of the car. Thanks guys, any help would be appreciated.

hmmm...put the stock tensioner pulley assembly back on and use the stock belt. or you can just use stillen's tensioner bracket and pulley, but use a shorter belt instead.

make sure you put all the bolts back to the timing chain cover or it will leak oil. Since all your MAF/sensor are on the charger pipe, so just attach a filter onto the charger pipe and you are ready to go.

you are in Fremont, right? where are you planning to get smog check? I am in Fremont too and my smog is coming up next year. do you have any hook-up?

The SC is 50-state legal, I thought.

I passed emmissions with my V1 squealing away with no problems...

Yep, I'm in Fremont, pretty close to the 680/880 Mission exit. I don't have hookups ....YET. I'm gonna go check out this one place where I've been told it's 'easier' to pass. If not, i'll just bypass the blower.

iansw:
But what about those new dyno-smogs? I don't think I'd be able to pass that.

I forgot, do any of you happen to know the size of the stock belt?

K060710 for the V2 IIRC.

Is THAT the reason you are changing the belt? The kit has a Carb EO#... I doubt they will even check the pulley size... Have them do a quick visual inspection first.

I see...I live near Fry's, on the other side of the railroad.

good luck~ good thing that your kit is CARB legal as iansw mentioned, so you can have it on your car and you will pass visual if you follow stillen's SC installation instruction. However, if you are running rich, you will not pass the test.

have you dynoed your car? if not, see if you want to go together to ATP (on Warmspring) for some dyno runs. I might visit them in a week or two. baseline is 65 dollars for 3 runs and tuning session is 100 dollars.

Nope that's not the reason, it's starting to shred again. So I figure that I might as well just bypass the blower anyway since it's coming out to get the belt replaced. I also got my steel pullies so i'll be putting those in as well. Is that belt size the one I would use to bypass the blower?

Maxi:
Hey you live pretty close then. I'd be up for some dyno runs if in a couple weeks.
