Order a VQ30DET, swap over your USDM intake manifold and all sensors from the old engine. This would be the best bet for going turbo.

so far there are 2 people with custom maxima's turbo kit. both of them put down pretty bad/low numbers for the conditions and specifications of the cars. one of them blew up.

buy a real kit from "shadow" and myself in a month/2 months.

no he hasnt... turbos use wasted exhaust gas instead of a pully and are more efficient. make more HP at less PSI, better for the engine and gas mileage, but u need to customize everything instead of just buying an SC kit.

HMMM lets think about this. 5499 for Custom Maxima turbo kit. Or 3800 for PFI turbo kit. Both have the same stuff, PFI will cusotmize the kit to fit what you want such as add boost controller or turbo timer, for an additional cost of course. And to top it off Nigel hasnt blown up his motor at 12.5 psi while to my knowledge the custommaxima kit has already blown a motor (not sure the whole story of this), Let me think about this for a minute, Hey jason how much is the kit you and shoadow working on gonna run. Oh I hate have money cause then the choices just start to open up more and more

Will this kit be just 5spd or auto too?

Our kits will not be transmission specific. The piping obviously will need to be changed around for both, but that will be taken care of, no worries there.

Pricing I can not give a firm number on, but we will offer tons of options and prices will follow pfi's, but the cheapest kit will match or beat pfi's.

Also remember that pfi's kits have no put down as much power as my kit, s.a.e. corrected at 5psi I am making 20-30whp more and I don't have a mevi.

so would I be better off waiting (and saving up more money) and buy your kit, instead of someones used s/c kit for a little under $3k?

Hm...very tempting. Plus Shadow is in Atlanta right? I could even drop the car off to get the turbo install and stay at my boy JAY25's place. Tempting...very tempting.

It means that instead of buying the 2 turbo kits, you can just order the DET from the beginning.
