What is a MEVI?

I've seen a MEVI mentioned a few times on this forum and I have no idea what it is. I am a newbie when it comes to turbocharging maximas, so I am trying to learn as much as possible about it before seriously considering installing one on my maxima. Can someone explain to me exactly what a MEVI is, what it does, and where I can get one?

ME = middleeast VI = variable intake.

variable intake is not equipped on stock 4th gen in the US. however, it is available on stock 4th gen oversea. ppl on .org imported the first batch of the variable intake from middleeast...that's why we called it MEVI.

the stock 5th gen (2k-2k1) has the VQ30 with variable intake and it yields 30hp more than a stock 4th gen.

I beleive you can get one from the groupdeal forum. I remembered Iansw was doing a groupdeal on this device.

I hate the term myself. It is a Variable Intake. It has nothing to do with the middle east, other than some F$#ker from the Middle East started to sell them and ripped a bunch of good people off by not delivering the goods.

I get them from the Middle East....so RoadBeast is not the only reason they are called "MEVI".

The true name is VIAS.

I've heard people are not getting them from Courtesy. Like I said before, as soon as they become a reliable source, then I have no reason to sell them anymore.

So if people are now getting them en masse, let me know.
