NEWBE (need to know about turbo)
I have a few things to ask, one is will 300zx pistons and rods fit in a VQ30 engine and if i get a 60-1 turbo when will it hit full spool at what (RPM) and at what (PSI) will a 60-1 turbo make 400hp.

i used a t4/t04e with a .71 backside, .60 comp with a 60 trim
you could use a t3/t4 as well. Hal uses a hybrid, nigel uses a straight t4.
no, th vg30dett internals wont fit
but i am selling some custom made pistons and rods that WILL fit and they will be great for boost.

why do you want that big T-60, I got a T4/T04E, believe me it will plant you to your seat@ 3800RPMs and I am only boosting 9.5PSI

400 hp and psi needed to make it is all depends on the other factors such as fuel system, exhaust system and what not, im sure you could make 400 psi at say 20psi (figurativly speaking we all know a max with stock internals will not hold 20psi so dont even start bashing) with a crappy setup, but with a well tuned setup you can possibly pull 400hp with only 10psi. It just all depends on how well ya tune it thats all. The secrets to making power are on the rollers at yer local dyno

I do not have the money to buy the internals you have to sell but i do plane to buy some soon because i plane to run 10 to 15 psi and nitrous may be a 75 shot to spool up a t4/60-1 turbo and one last thing will a level 10 auto tranny take 10 to 15 psi.

Not saying it cant be done, but its a lot for a newbie to spittin out. Good luck getting it done, cause I hope you have a big bank account.

After want you said (julio) I might not get a t4/60-1 turbo but get a t3/t4 turbo for fast spool and good top end but I will not run so high boost more like 10 at the most and try to make 400hp after i tune it will, like (hals) maxima. after what I have read up on a level 10 auto tranny will take 400hp if i take care of it. the only thing that i worry about is fuel and how big of downpipe/exhaust i can get for even faster spool. p.s. i do not want a t4 turbo because my max i drive ever day and do not want lot of lag. I DID A 180 AT FRIST I WANT BIG LAG BUT BIG POWER AND NOW I WANT LITTLE LAG AND AND BIG POWER.

Cool, a t3/t4 turbo should provide more than enough power. That much power right away should be enough to kick your a$$, at least for a while. The real challenge will keeping traction.
About the lag vs power thing...Reliability should always be your first priority, which can be difficult (tranny, good fuel management). An FMU will def not be able to provide that much fuel. With stock fp @ 45, and a rising rate of 6-8psi/ for manifold pressure increase, the fuel pressure will be too high at 10 psi. Too much pressure on the injectors makes them fail/freeze. But...There are many, many ways to decrease lag. One of which is one i am working on which noone has yet, at least i think not. But anyway, maybe I could help you out with the lag thing when you get situated with your turbo, where do you live?

i do plane to go with 370cc or maybe 550cc injectors and run some were in the 8 to 10 psi range. i live in a little town about 5 hours west of tallahassee called Jay it is on the alabama line. i am not going to start turboing my max right now but may be in about a year i will. i am just doing my (homework) on turboing maxima's so when i do turbo it i will know evey thing about it. I MEANT AT FRIST I WANTED BIG LAG BUT BIG POWER AND NOW I WANT LITTLE LAG AND POWER. The thing that i meant to say was like supra's and rx-7's with a big t-88 turbo they do not hit full boost until 5000 rpm's and then they make 700 hp. LIKE I SAID THEY HAVE BIG LAG AND THEN BIG POWWWWWWWWWWER! And now I will just stay with my little t3/t4 turbo that have little lag and a little power! BIGGER IS NOT ALWAS BETTER!!!!!!!!!
