SAFC Questions

Finally got around to installing my SAFC (thanks Delio!) this past weekend.

I noticed in the '.etc' menu there are settings for day and night brightness. How do you switch between the two? Is there an input (wire) for a dimmer or something?

Are there settings that I need to set before tuning can be done? I've got all the sensor settings setup properly.

If you use the side arrow keys you can switch from day to night brightness, at least that's how it works with my SAFC-I.

For initial settings, you want the Lo/Hi settings at 39/40 and you want zero correction factor at all the rpm settings for both low throttle and high throttle. When you make adjustments based on dyno runs, you will be changing the high throttle settings only. I tried adjusting the low throttle settings once and I got very erratic engine behavior because the ecu tries to compensate back to what it thinks the afr needs to be at partial throttle.

Side arrow keys in a specific mode? Main menu? The brightness menu? I'll have to play with it.

Thanks for the setting information.

Yes, go to the etc. menu and scroll down to the brightness menu and hit the "next" button. You should have three choices, iirc. Use the side arrow keys to choose which one you want.

So there's no nice dimmer input or anything like that (like clocks, radios, etc. have)?

I didn't think so.

Thanks again.
