s-afc 2 detonation feature

anyone using the detonation reading feature on their s-afc (2)? if you are, do you know what a dangerous level is? i don't know if the numbers represent percent or what so i have no clue what the numbers are telling me. thanks in advance!

btw, by detonation feature i mean the knock sensor reading thingy.

IIRC...nobody has got that feature to work with a VQ knock sensor.

I could have missed it though.

From what I've read, it works on OBD-I DSM's so you might wanna check some of their message boards.

I dont work for sure. It only "seems" like it works, but you will notice when the outside temp like goes from 60 to say 90, you will notice the knock sensor readings are totally off now. It will show that you are knocking like 25 or so while in park. If you set it to 90 outside temp, then it will have the same problem when the outside temp goes back down to 60.

I know it sounds wierd, but I cant get it to work at all. It seems to work when the temp stays the same. Ive seen that work fairly well then. Ive taken a 5hr trip and the knock sat at zero the whole time. I know others said that as they drive more and more the knock reading keeps going higher and higher, mine however doesnt do that.

so is the reading in a percent or something? i just don't know when i'm in a bad position. when i'm cruising around at most it will read 5 or so and if i really get on it, it will increase to 30 or 40 or so. i'm hoping that isn't bad but i have no clue. i'll take a look at the dsm boards.

It doesnt read a percentage, its supposed to read knock amount. And no you wont be doing nothing bad, cause A) your basing your assuming on the s-afc2 that dont work B) if you were truly at that level you would notice it.
