help turbo

well i am planning on buying a turbo but i was wondering can i run the turbo with out a intercooler or would it mess my engine up bad or can i just run it with a wastgate and bov

from what I have learned recently you can buy I dont know why you would want to....

non intercooled will be at least 30 hp less to the wheels....

the air that comes compressed from the turbo is VERY hot....bringing hot air to your engine is no good....not enough air molecules...colder the air is...more molecules you can fit into your engine...more molecules means bigger explosions means more power....

the disadvantage to running non-intercooled isn't so much that you won't make big power...its more so the fact that on moderately high compreesion engines like the VQ(10.5:1?) where timing retard isn't directly possible, there is an increased chance of serious detonation occuring

this link would be a good list to start from, but be sure to do all your homework

cost, is going to depend on too many things to even estimate for you. it typically ends up being more than you think ($300++ of fittings, etc that you forget)

Around $4-5k after its said and done. Boost is not cheap especially for 4th gens.

Yep, a good intercooler seems the most expensive thing on my list except an exhaust manifold. Do some research boost is not cheap project.
