95 JWT ECU in 97 Max - what codes to expect?
What the title says.....
Installed 1995 ECU in my 1997 Max and I only get one code - 1005 - EGRC Solenoid valve.
According to the 4th Gen FAQ's, that code would show up on a 99 because 99's have a different type of EGR System. But it doesn't mention any EGR differences between 1995 and 1997.
Basically, I had expected a rear O2 code.
Anyone else put a 95 ECU in a 97 Max? What codes, if any, did you get?

I went ahead and replaced the solenoid valve anyway, but I still get the code. Functionally, the car drives fine with no indication of any EGR problem. I had come to the conclusion that it's a bug in JWT's turbo program, your experience confirms that.
Coincidentally, I always used to get a CEL with 0707 (rear heated O2 sensor) before, now I never get that. Weird, huh?

Interesting. I jsut realized that the 1005 code also is not throwing the CEL. Other things were - like my broken wiring for the Samshaft Position Sensor and then later the blown coil pack.
Well, that will fail me on emmissions.....so now I gotta think ahead to September on what I have to undo/re-install before Emissions day.
