E-manage help...

I cant get the injecotr duty cycle to display on my E01? I have had the E01 boost controller for a wile, it works fine. I just installed the E-Manage with the injector harness. Is their something special I need to do to get the injector duty cycle to display? I have selected it in the display select and it dosent show? Every thing else works fine, the car runs and drives. I traced all the wires from the E-Manage harness back to the injectors and all the connections are good and the wires are in the right place. Our cars dont have an injector ground so I connected that to the ECU ground, could this be a problem? Perhaps I need to hook an actual computer to the E-manage to change a setting or somthing? Any help is appreciated.

Matt, now that I think about it...there should be a seperate injector ground...I can't be 100% sure until I look at Coreys car again, but there should be a semi-thick black wire on the ECU harness near the injector wires...I've found that the layout was very similar to the Nissan ECU layouts Greddy provides...most of the "common" wires are relatively in the same places throught the Nissan lineup.

"#E" is where the inj. ground should be, and as best as my memory serves me it was in the same area on the 99 Max harness as the N-3 diagram shows--> http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/man...-manage_29.JPG

Did you test the wire you hooked up to? Did it just show ground all the time?

nope, didn't test it...but I know we're getting consistent duty cycle readings on the laptop everytime we run a datalog

call up Corey and see if he can check the wire for you...you have a 98 though, so not sure on the difference in position on the harness

I disconnected the ground for the injectors from the main ECU grouns and it still did not work.
I found another ground next to the injectors wires, same spot as a 300zx; top row nect to #3 injector wire, hooked the injector ground to their and it still dosent show on the E01 display.

Oh Corey, can I use your suport cable for a little while

are you referring to diagram N-3??(http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/man...-manage_29.JPG)
cause according to the Z32 N-3 diagram the ground should be on the bottom row and I can recall on Coreys harness thats around where I wired it in...it definently was at on the bottom rom of the harness.
so on the harness, in the column you have it in now, what color is the wire at the bottom of the column(bottom row)??

Thanks, I have the FSM but this is allot better!

I have the EM injector ground wire at #108 now, dosent work. It looks like I have a few more to try. #112, #116. #124. Based on what Addie says about Coreys 99 SEL I should use #124. Addie, can you look at the diagram in the link and advise if the harness's look the same on a 99'? Corey, if your out their, can you please look at your harness and verify for me?

One of main reason I bought this was for duty cycle

Matt, the 99 ECU harness plug is setup very different from the 96... but if I was going to try any of those 3 wires, I'd say #124 is the best bet cause I know 100% the gorund I used was on the bottom row of the harness, cause it was a kinda difficult to get to!!

So Ive tried 108, 116 and 124, no luck. I dont have a wire for 112. Maybe 10 or 19?

Very frusrating!

Maybe give 25 a shot? Based on that diagram the 96 harness looks most similar to the 95-98 240 harness (N-10B). Don't know the legend for the diagram, but E points to what would be pin 25 on the 96.

Jefferson, make sure you are looking at "#E" and not "E"..."#E" is the injector ground NOT "E", there is a difference. I think you are lokoing at "E" though in the diagram

try 19...and Matt, are you still trying to display it through the E01 or do you have the support cable for a laptop?? did Corey check the wiring for you?? if not I'll be over there tommorow night and I can check for sure.

Thanks, I was looking at E. As I said I don't have the legend so it was just a shot in the dark.

Do you know if Corey has a 99 FSM?

yup...he has one, but when I installed his Emanage he hadn't gotten it yet. actually the reference I did use was excatly like that Jim Wolf PDF you posted for the 96(except it was for a 99). we got it from a buddy who works at an auto shop. if I had it in front of me now, it might really help get this solved, but its in Coreys garage which is why tommorow I can check, or even post it up to compare

Matt, did you see this:

from Joel on the mailing list:
"ok everyone having this problem go outside and play =] it will show duty cycle after you "confirm" the maps on the PARAMETER screen on the E-01. hope this solves everyone's problems. keep me posted

Jeffson: I have the print out, its a little ragged and oil stained, but I'll scan it best I can...it still shows where I hooked up the coils and injectors though! I'll email it to you later

Im a doofus!!!

I had the RPM wire for the EM hooked to the rear O2 sensor wire. I had my Fields AFC hooked their and I just thought it was the right wire. I noticed that the EM was not seeing RPM when I hooked Coreys laptop up, thanks Corey. Thanks to all who helped!

The good news is it works! I saw a peak of 82% @ 7k rpm w/11psi & 4.4vMAF. I saw 79% @7200rpm w/9psi & 4.3vMAF. 49% @ 7200rpm w/4.4psi (BC off) I did see 100% if I bumped off the rev limiter at 11psi I think its just due to the rev limiter hit. I believe I could maybe run up to 13psi with stock FP, if I crank up the FP to 2 bar I should be able to get 14psi. Woohoo, its gonna be a fun ride to work in the AM trying to get the BC to set 13psi

J&S is quiet the whole time, dam conservative JWT taking the fun outa this, up next is the ignition harness. Anyone got some spare coil packs I can buy LMFAO!!!

Good job man....get the diodes for the coil packs and you should be fine. Corey was running +1 advance with no probs after we installed the diodes...so far no burnt coils!

I will take them for sure!

I spiked to 14.8psi @ 4700rpm w/73% DC this morning trying to set the BC to 13psi, traffic was heavy so I didnt get but a few good runs at it, so It didnt take.

You have helped me get where I am. I have some extras laying around, they do have 130,000 miles on them, but they all work.

That what we do here, right? Help each other out as best as we can
