Possible Problem with New Engine......
Ok, this problem has just started within the past couple of minutes when I was out eating with the Girlfriend.
We were on our way home and I was toying with this newer Porshe (or whatever it was) and he was riding my @$$ the whole way home. So, we got onto a straight stretch and I gunned it at 9.5 psi. I "beat" him because he was not expecting it, however, immediately after this event I noticed a few things.
1) I started to see a little more exhaust coming out of the muffler. It was whitish colored, so whatever that means.
2) There is "strong" exhaust pressure coming out of the front crankcase vent. I know that some exhaust may leak out of the vent, but there is a good bit now. If I hold a folded up shop rag up to the vent and hold it there for 10-20 seconds and release it, a GOOD bit of pressure comes out of the vent. Furthermore, the exhaust coming out of the vent is very visible, whitish colored.....
So at this point, I think I have officially toasted my first engine (1st engine before was replaced due to mileage). Any thoughts on this one?
I do not hear any metal on metal sounds, so I am thinking that a piston or oil ring may be messed up, but I have no idea. I am gonna hunt down a compression tester shortly.

good luck with that, i have a problem with my motor not wanting to go over 4500 rpm.
it doesnt shift or anything, just stays there hanging out like a set of .....
so dixit, is what youre saying that he needs new rockers?

You can replace the bad head, but like I said, only issue is you need to remove the lower oil pan which requries the removal of the air conditioning compressor, which also requires the engine brace to be removed, then need to remove the passengerside engine mount, then remove timing cover, then timing chain.
Then remove rear timing cover, then remove the cams, and then remove the "bad" head. Its alot of work to be performed on the car, but it can be done without too much difficulty.

This labor isn't all that bad as I have already done it twice to do the timing.
My thinking is that when I had bad timing initially on the engine and turning it over so many times, I think that maybe one of the pistons may have struck a valve, ultimately damaging it. Then with the addition od constant daily driving and a few runs, the seal on the valve has shot out.
Dixit, what more is involved? Do I have to remove the upper oil pan? The only thing that scares me is messing with the actual cam timing chain, not the main timing chain, but the actual cam/valve chain. I just want to make sure that this is done right. I am gonna start on it VERY shortly, probably within the next few days.
