Video: Jay vs. NSX and bags part II

For those who do NOT know, Jay25 has 2 boosted Maximas. 1998 turbo, and a 1995 supercharged. These runs were in the SC '95 Max AKA "sleeps, sleepy". He's at 9-10 psi w/ mevi.

Man I dont know what to tell you, I prefer the SCer for a daily driven car. Thats just my opinion. Its just so fun to drive. No turbo timer or none of that crap. When your at a light people just stare you down etc...like what the hell is going on with that car and that electrical noise or what ever he has under the hood.

I may sell this V2 kit, I cant afford to have two boosted cars. Its too addicting as you can see. I am sure I am pushing at least 315HP @10PSI untuned.

Yea it was , that was pretty insane that you kept up the way you did. One more small question.....is there a link that has an in-depth article about SC/Turbo maintenence, vehicle pre-req's, etc... ? OMG....just noticed that you live in Marietta...which isn't TOO far from Athens.

Justin, see -- the dude drving was 55 yrs old. We pulled up next to him, saw that he was an older guy...and then we thought he wasn't gona do anything.

So, traffic clears up....we're LITTLE ahead of him just cruisin...NOT EVEN thinkin about him. That's when we hear/see him fly by...and we ATTEMPT to catch up.

If Jay was in his turbo max.... oh boy

Bijan, I'm going to assume you get to do this kind of stuff fairly often with all the boosted guys in your area. You are a lucky SOB.....

You hung with the NSX very well assuming he had momentum before he passed you.

Boost looks like so much fun, it might even be worth the annoyance of possible breakdowns and blown trannies.

Why are people posting the % of their download speeds? You can download off that website at over 400k per second as I can from work, from home.

I dont know but at the house it was hitting 321KB per second

Once again thank you DIXIT for hosting the vids for us. I kind of felt bad asking my other partners in crime to do it. Ill ask him if he wants to upload the D&B meet vid since it got so much attention.

Some old folks do that. That NSX run was not part of the original plan. The plan was to ride out and dyno tune. Will happen some other day at a much eariler time.

No problem. Its cool. I got no issues on you hosting it with me. Just I was amazed that the D&B video made it to like 14-15other fourms. From what I can tell off the incoming addresses.

OMFG i'm boosting! that **** is soo sick

and its crazy how the two maxima's are like almost even in the second video. The 97+ max gets ahead a little and there is no more seperation or getting closer lol. And the first video looks kind of bootleg how it cuts off and just shows him pass the other car. Aw man, boost looks soo fun man

you guys with the dial-up connections should get Download Accelerator Plus (the free version is fine). it breaks the download into smaller parts and treats them like individual downloads. It can make a dial-up connection up to 5 times faster, and cable (or other high speed connections) 7 times faster. I have some sort of broadband connnection here at school and with DAP it tranferred at 1380kbps or ~1.1mbps

Sorry Jay, you've posted up too many vids lately for me to know which one you guys are talking about.

Is it the SC IS300 one? Bags or you vs. the SRT4? You vs. the 300z?

Anyways, what's the story on a stock NSX? Hp/tq? 1/4-time? I figured you would have worked him, but you only held him/caught him?

Just found this:
http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Performa...DynoReport.pdf

Looks like they make ~260-270whp, but "only" 200ish wtq, you've got what ~320whp and about the same torque?

BTW I did dyno my new turbo, makes more power

Explain to us how did he have mods? He had momentum going thats what he had to his advantage , If I fly by a fast car I am already going fast he has to get to my speed and play catch up.

There are a few reasons why I have not posted it. Things were not done correctly for the first dyno run. For example they did not set up the computer right, I made ~500 lbs of TQ..lol.. 2 there was no fan on my motor for the 1st run. The 2nd run was on a heat soaked motor, I did not have enough time to wait for the engine to cool down and redyno.

So my numbers are not a good comparison to make VS my old setup.

I also found out my filter was to small for the new turbo.

I made more WHP, but less TQ. Also I think I was choking out my other turbo above 5500 rpm. Not this one

So that is why I have not posted anything.

I am now working on getting a SAFC-2 and my VI back on and working.

Who knows if it had mods, those new NSXs come stock fast as hell. Your 98 and him would have been a good match from a 40mph roll.

Bags,

I wouldn't worry about all that and just post them up anyways.

If not, you can email them to me at IceY2K1@maxima.org or I'll wait unti you get better ones.

I get bored not seeing people post any new runs, so ANYTHING is better then nothing.
