i read an article in the new issue of Turbo explaining the benifits of this Thomas Knight electric supercharger. since my car is over 100k is this supercharger a better option than a normal turbo kit? the car is a 95 se.any help would make a tremendous difference. thanx.

I don't know about this specific supercharger you're talking about, but I remember a few years ago there was one out that was $300-$400 (E-ram I think they called them) and produced 0.5psi, good for a few good cheap hp gains, but nothing spectacular. I would think that an electrical SC would draw too much current from the alternator, that can't be good. That's all I know.

This is not your traditional crapola electric supercharger. This is a serious system, designed to compete with traditional forced induction.

I see little reason to get this for a Maxima. The unit alone costs ~$2k. After that, for a minimal setup you need batteries (~$150) and a beefy alternator (~$200).

Add in an FMU and you're coming close to the V2.

You're looking at $2350 for 15 seconds of boost every ~10 minutes. I'd rather pick up a used V2 and get ~10 minutes of boost every ~10 minutes
