Emergency Belt (Quick replacement)

Guys,

I am researching everything I need to upgrade my v2 from 3.6" to 3.33" Pulley( fuel pump, fmu, Adj FPR, etc...). During my researching (Went back about 20 pages in SC forum) I found a thread in which C MAX mentioned an emergency belt.

The belt as described can serve as QUICK replacement for your stock belt incase your SC belts shreads (The belt is of adjustable length) . Anyway i was just wondering if maybe this belt would be long enough to serve as a replacement for the SC belt itself!

I highly doubt that its long enough but it doesn't hurt to hope! As some of you may know I have to pull my engine to replace my belt so this made me think for a second. Shoot, if it worked for the Scer, then others could replace their SC belt alot quicker without removing the Scer!

What do you guys think?

Looks like a good idea but I think 7.5 feet is really long! How do you adjust it?

I've always dreaded the day when the belt will totally break instead of shedding a rib!

Since you're going to 3.33" (I'm 3.33" already) don't forget to shave down the post for bolt #6 for belt clearance!

That was one very important detail you missed! Mind you, all you need to do is file the flat side down a bit more to half the width.

the stock replacement belt can be used on the SC tensioner with the 3.6 pulley on a V2,,,that is what I used on my 99. It caused no problems at all when slipped on. And can be easily put on and taken off.

When you say stock replacement belt, do you mean the standard serpentine belt or the emergency replacement belt discussed in this thread? If so, did you use it on the SCer, or just the standard components (alternator, AC, etc...)
