More chip tunning info....

Hey guy's, I was tooling around some & came across this bit of reading material. I'm not sure if it will be helpful to us Maxima owners, but then again I'm not a electronics major either? So I just thought I would post this for others to check out & see if this could be another option for us. Besides the good reading material, there is a free downloadable ECU tunning practice program on here. So let me know what you guy's think. Was it a good find or not? Thanks!!!

I noticed that myself until I read alittle further & seen the information they started about using pretty much every type chip created. If you look at their chart they do show some nissan products available.http://www.evc.de/en/product/ols/checksum.asp So I'm guessing they do have the technology on hand to create products for the Maxima. or that it's possibly already there but for the average guy we can't spot it. People who are more experienced with ECU's might be able to piece something together from it. My main purpose for this post was so the ECU guru's on the org. could download the free software & play with it alittle bit to see what they think about it. Either way, the information on that site is very knowledgable & worth reading to increase personal understanding.

The ecu needs to have an eprom. Or a daughterboard installed with an eprom. From there it's like any other nissan ecu. Post a pic of the inside of your ecu, or send on over to me.

The entire reason I started this thread was to find those who do have a better understanding about ECU's, Eproms & such. This thread is here for posting any old, new or experimental chip tunning info for those people to play with & see if they find something that could work for our maxima's other then whats already on the market that we already know about.

I know a guy who can modify B13 and S13 OBD-I ECUs, and makes his own EPROMs with JWT programming on them. He said that the OBD-II ECUs are much more complicated and he hasn't worked with them at all. He is actually a member of this board and owns a max, but he lurks mostly. I talked to him once briefly about it and it didn't sound too promising but maybe that's just because he hadn't looked into it very deeply.

I'd go Motec if I had a clearer understanding on everything about it.
