NA vs FI
NA vs FI
Which do you guys honestly think would take more money to get into the mid 13's...NA or FI? And when I say FI, I mean a supercharger, not turbo or nitrous. It's a simple question...feel free to say whatever you want. Also, preferably include WHY you think one would be cheaper over the other and possibly give a list of prices.
This should be interesting

Why stop @ 13's?
This is borderline General forum stuff, but I'll let this run it's course.
Good comparison. That's exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. However, looking at the two compared, I just picked up on something. ~$2100 for a maxed-out NA setup that needs slicks to run 13's, or ~$2300 (let's say) for a supercharger setup that can do it on street tires and have the potential to be even faster, whereas the NA is at it's peak pretty much.
13's is just to start. Just for comparison purposes. And I realize it's borderline, and I apologize, but I figured I would get better responses here. Move it if you must.

On a side note, a n/a motor making the same power as a boosted motor is almost always going to be faster. But that usually involves bigger cubic inches vs. smaller displacement boost, like a 4.6L cobra running a 6psi vortech vs. a cobra with a 5.4L dohc engine running high compression and all the n/a tricks.
But that doesn't really apply here, so i'll shut up now.

No sweat, just harassing you more than anything..
And WEIGHT REDUCTION should be your #1 GOAL...
you can cut ~300 lbs out of your ride and pick up close to a full second... do that 1st.

the turbo route doesn't necessarily end up being more expensive. it depends on how much time you spend looking for quality parts at good prices.

Are you looking for just a quarter mile car, or something that will just keep on pulling? N/A cars begin to die of at around 110 or so where the supercharger will just keep on pulling and pulling on the top end while still being as fast in a quarter mile. Its alll about what you want and the money you want to spend. Nothing compares to the face on people when they hear a bov in a max.

I have one of the heavier cars that run the 1/4 @ ~3350 lbs with me in it.
2 12's, amps, spare tire, etc...
I know exactly what you mean. I bump while waiting on the tree
Big bags sed it! Throw a turbo in your ride, and turn the boost up and regardless it will be fast! If you are into beating everyone vs just kickin peoples @ss's when you wanna in a sleeper, then take your subs out.. radio.. ac.. backseat... lose weight. My car is daily driven, hopefully when i get my turbo setup in a few yew years i can own on the road. When i first got my maxima i was ****ed cuz i saw it only had 190 HP. But i realized this car is faster than alot of cars out there and has ALOT of potential. Everytime i tell someone i have a 5 speed maxima, I get respect! It's not like saying i have a civic. For example, on of my friends who is a girll has her soon to be boyfriend drivin arround in a modded civic.. and she's like its so fast! It would smoke your car! Im like hmm sure whatever u say.. And i was partying with them last weekend and she brought up that his car could smoke my maxima, and he almost spit his beer out, he was like Maxima?! No way, he'd own me!! Im like Haha. R-E-S-P-E-C-T Baby! Bags your my role model man!

The stereo is out of the car for now but the dual bottles and extra weight of the turbo setup all conspire against fast times but we'll just push for more power and traction until that tranny goes south.
