What's the largest intercooler that can fit under the bumper support

Right off the bat I want to say that I'm not asking this question because I think bigger is better or that I want the largest intercooler in this hemisphere, I'm asking this because I found a 30x7 bar and plate for a very good price but I'm worried it is too large to fit under the bumper support and within the confines of the stock vinyl bumper. I do NOT want to have to cut the bumper support. If I recall correctly hal runs a 6" tall intercooler underneath his stock bumper support, I would assume one could fit a 6.5" tall intercooler underneath it too and still not have it sticking out underneath the bumper, but does anyone know if a 7" tall IC would fit? Also, is the length of 30" endtank to endtank (not including the inlets) going to cause a width problem. I was planning on getting like a 27x6x3 IC but this one is a good IC for a good price, but I don't want to have to go hacking away at my car to get it to fit.

I was running a 30x6 core... and if memory serves me correctly it was going from bumper support to the bottom of the bumper perfectly, and width was no problem assuming you lost your fogs.

Tried taking a tape measure to your car?

Lose the bumper support and make a cardboard mockup.

I know whatever came with the PFI kit required a lot of bumper support cutting. By the time it fit, might as well have just removed it IMO.

yes but it was a long time ago and I didn't write any of it down. i dont have fogs so that wont be a problem but I do seem to remember 6" being just about perfect so I think you are right. tomorrow I was planning on testing it with cardboard to get some definate size limits but it was 2am when i posted this and i wasn't thinking that far ahead.
