JWT claims it need to be 18" from the blower on the NON-CHARGED side...this is impossible to do without a second cross-over pipe like the 5th gen max

Iansw was tryin to get a second cross over pipe made, but I have heard anything about that in a while

Some guys have had it on the charges side for many miles with no problems but then there are people who put it on the charges side and have problems with it the 1st day

even on stock z32's the maf is located on the non charged side - it is right behind the air filter. ive read several times that it needs to be placed between 8 and 10 inches in front of the supercharger so grab some extra wire and wire that bad boy up.

I've had a Z32 maf on the charged side for 11 months now. No problems.

I originally had it about 9-10 inches in front of the blower inlet, with a recirculation hose. I've got some pictures I can post on Monday. That may work fine in a turbo setup, which normally doesn't pump much air except at heavy throttle, but a SC pumps air based on engine rpm and not throttle position - so much air when cruising that you get a large amount of backflow everytime you let off the gas pedal when shifting or just slowing down. The maf senses the backflow and the engine runs very rich for the moment or two when the throttle is closed. This will foul out a set of plugs very quickly, especially the BKR7s.

Furthermore, I don't think that moving the maf farther from the blower inlet will prevent this, since it's not just a bit of turbulence at the blower inlet or the recirc valve that is the problem, but a very substantial amount of backflow due to pressure building up in the intake tract when the throttle closes at any speed above idle. The backflow is going to travel all the way back to the filter, no matter how far away it is from the blower. The problem gets worse as you go to smaller pulleys.
