not intending to jack the thread, but just out of curiosity, why do you auto tranmission folk opt for strengthening your auto's when it is far cheaper to just swap to a manual? im guessing its because of daily driveability (not having to change gears and such in traffic)... is that it or am i missing some kind of advantage in autos (i know autos can be better for dragging in some circumstances).

drivability is one and the other is drag racing. a built auto can out shift any shift driver out there.

Not to mention the 5spd's habit of shattering 3rd gear.

and for drag, the auto will provide more consistent/better launches, and also hold full boost through shifts on turbo cars.

i have the level ten tranny with stage 3 valve body. i run a 12.9@111 mph in the 1/4. i went from a five speed to a auto because of that, traction was a bish with five speed and those throw out bearings would constantly break. five speed is a beautiful thing but for speed the auto is a lot less headaches if you invest properly. ask meccanoble, we raced his 11lbs s/c five speed vs my 9lbs s/c auto and guess who won.

i ran 13.2 with 6 to 7 psi on street tires, car was able to run mid 12's with slicks if i would use the stall at 3000 a the launch.

CMAX do you have a time slip scanned for that 12.9 @111 im curios what you 60ft and 1/8th mile trap were and ever put your car on a dyno. by the way your not spraying are you?

also did you race meccanoble from a stop of a roll im gonna guess a stop

the only advantage the auto has is if your into braket racing

not to metion i could replace my 5spd 6 or 7 times before id come close to paying as much for a level ten rebiuld. or i could just get the gears cryod for few hundred and never have to worry about them again

5spds OWN the highway

its all about the TRAP SPEED

my sig explains the rest
