Additions to Sced max?
Additions to Sced max?
I've got a 97gxe with a v1 scer (3.6" pulley), vortech 6:1 fmu, y pipe, straight pipe, and cat back exhaust. I've had this setup for about a month and just have a couple of questions i was wondering if yall could help me out with...i know a bov isn't needed for a scer, wondering if there are any benefits to it besides it making a sound. Also, my tranny is auto, i have a moroso inline tranny cooler, but still want to keep track of my temp. Advice on what gauges would be good to have? I was thinking tranny temp, oil temp, and boost...thanks
well, you have a bypass valve right now. If you went for more boost you would probably want to change over to a bov. For ex, a blitz or something. The bov lets the built up pressure release when you shift. With your set up now I dont think you need a bov, you are recirculating the air back into the air filter right? You first should change your intake into a cold air intake. You will gain another pound of boost plus that little a$$ pancake air filter sucks. If you change out the intake then you might want to get a bov and upgrade to a 3.33 pulley. You can run that on your current setup, I did for a while.

Hey..I got a question. I bought my kit used and it didn't come with the fuse box relocation bracket near the pancake filter. Now, if I switch to CAI, would I still need that fuse box relocation bracket.

Good question. The relocation bracket is not anything more than a piece of metal. You def want the cai! I went along time without it just because I didnt have anything to cut the hole with. Go ahead and put the cai in and figure out the fuse box mounting later, maybe just make your own bracket.
