ported and polished with turbo

Does any one on here have ported and polish heads.I was wondering how much of a gain could I exspect from that? Ok I know some of you have ported intakes how much did you get out of that? And do you get a noticeble gain from the ported throttle body? Thanks for help. Just trying to keep think and doing thinks to the max

Rather than port the throttle body (which will only increase the 60mm TB out maybe 4mm), you might as well go with the 70mm Pathfinder TB.

Do you have the larger intake ports that the VG on the Z32 has? I have a Z32 IM in my garage, and the intake ports are about 25-40% larger than the VQ ports.

this is our intake manifold:

ours is the VG30E so about the only thing similar to the VG30DE(TT) engine is the block. main things we can swap from the TT are the pistons and rods and with some machining the crank. other than that nothing else swaps, to my knowledge.

our best bet for a good intake is the earlier pathfinder manifold. i'm going to attempt putting on which will flow a bit better and has a single tb that can be upgraded to the 60 mm 240sx unit. other than that we don't really have very good intake options. i think with some machining the pathy intake could fit really well but i'll know in a few days whether or not its possible.

this is the pathfinder intake:

that pathfinder IM looks like it's still pretty damn high.

yeah, its very high. most likely i'd have to cut some material off... it may not work at all but hopefully it will. it'll also help with the intercooler setup if i can get it on.

What year Pathfinder is that IM from?

I've been seeing that IM on Z31's lately.

pathfinder intake i believe comes from 90-94 or so.

stock z31 manifold flows worse than the stock maxima manifold.

Wow that is interesting. I never would have thought that that Z would have a worse IM than the Maxima. The 3rd gens are newer so i guess nissan tried to improve the design. I really don't know a lot about 3rd gens so excuse my ignorance. Good luck getting the Pathfinder IM to work.

yeah, the Z manifold is an older design and you can tell by just looking at it that its a pretty bad design.

comparing the vg30e of the Z31 and 2nd gen maxima to the vg30e of the third gen maximas, there was a bit higher torque output in the third gen than the older maxima and Z. the main differences between the two are the intake manifold and exhaust manifold.
