Some Fuel, MAF, and other questions about FI

I heard that aftermarket fuel pumps have a tendency to crap out after anywhere from 5 months to three years.... Have any of you experienced this with your FI systems?
If not, what kind of fuel pump are you running with your setup?

Also, Do you all leave the stock MAF in the car?... In order to optimize performance you need to have them recalibrated (i dont think this is done for maximas at a reasonable price). I wonder how much performance this looses. I know with even a reprogramed PCM it wont work right.

New FPR-are they needed and do they hook up to the vacuum line to adjust for engine load?

thanks
JEFF

Don't know about aftermarket fuel pumps, but MAF's are not a "performace" item. All they do is meter air and tell the ECU how much fuel to deliver. One MAF does not really "perform" better than another. The difference between, say our stock MAF and a z32 MAF is how much air they can meter. So untill you are pushing too much air through the stock MAF it will "perform" just fine. We don't get our MAF's recalibrated, but we can get our ECU's reprogramed to run with a larger MAF, like a z32 MAF. But it is not 100% necessary. Some guys are able to run z32 MAF's without upgrading the ECU but it takes larger injectors and turning down the base fuel pressure.

Thats good to hear on the fuel pump and the MAF. In class my teacher started talking about different MAF for the new air flow, but i guess he was talking big power.

Would stock 300z injectors the same as the 300z turbo's injectors?
And which one is the best?

thanks
