How often do you rebuild your S/C ?

Just wondering how often you guys have your s/c rebuilt, how many miles approximately, mine was rebuilt i'd say 25k miles ago? I now have 105k miles on the car. When is it time for a rebuild?

Wow, no kidding? Did the impeller come apart?

I've got over 100,000 miles on my V1 (I bought it used with 66k on it already). It is still making boost real well, but it is starting to show signs of needing seals replaced. Regular oil changes is the key to long life. Also don't boost till the engine oil is warmed up.

97k and mine was shipped back to cali. I treated that blower like a baby. Like Stephen said never boost until car is properly warmed up. I always liked to clean my impeller blade with rubbing alcohol and some Q-tips. Somewhere along the way I managed to suck in something that put about 5 little nicks on the blade. Spoke with vortech the other day. Needs new impeller/seals/bearings. When your bearings on the v1 go you will know. I think I could have got alittle more out of it if I had an oil cooler. Any sug. on a nice oil cooler to go along with fresh blower?

Oh, final cost of rebuild is $480 not including return shipping

I just found in a Mustang forum that "the vortech v2 sq superchargers are not reccomended to go below 32 degrees according to vortech website. however the v1 is". Gotta find where it says that.
