pfi turbo piping
pfi turbo piping
hey does anyone have a picture of the piping for the pfi kit or any of the other kits for our car?? i know there was a CAD pic of hal's turbo piping posted a while back but i cant find it, i wanted to see how it attaches to the y-pipe or headers. thanks
This is not a "kit" that is for sale, but it is the basic reverse y-pipe set up that most guys have. This was designed and made by On Alert a few years ago. I now own it but have yet to install it. I think the exhaust is the same as the PFI kit but my induction piping is different.

A modified aftermarket y-pipe is used. it is reversed to flow the exhaust back to turbo. Not the best design in the world but it is simple since it uses a easily had y-pipe.

hmmm so where does the reverse y pipe and down pipe off turbo sit? i m guessing it does not fit in the pre made indent in the chasis where the stock exhuast sits. do you have any ground clearance issues? wouldnt want to scrap that expensive pipe
I do, major ground clearance issues. Down pipe might even need replacement. If you fabricate a downpipe, I suggest you make it hug the tranny ( but not too close)to make clearance.
That red pipe is your y pipe. See how it wraps back around and heads upward. Thats the reverse part. I bought a used Cattman y and chopped off the reverse part from the kit and welded that on. So I got a Cattman Y turbo piping. Sounds a bit better to me.
