Supercharged/Turbocharged The increase in air/fuel pressure above atmospheric pressure in the intake system caused by the action of a supercharger or turbocharger attached to an engine.

Those with Z32 MAF/JWT ECU/SC - what is your base FP?

This is indicative of an air leak after the maf. But then you should have the same thing with setup #1, too. And I know you have looked for air leaks. Strange.

Yep.

I am so f'ing fed up with it that I haven't even tried messing with it directly in almost 2 months....

I ordered piping to make a non-charged setup a month ago and I haven't even opened the box.

Wait a sec Stephen

Running fine without SC plugged in and running like crap with the SC plugged in indicates a vacuum leak?

Wouldn't it run like crap either way - why does it matter if the SC is plugged in or not? Either way a leak would cause the MAF to get incorrect readings because of unmetered air.

Not so much a vacuum leak as a boost leak. For instance if you have a coupling after the maf and before the TB, it may very well leak pressurized air but not be a vacuum leak. With a SC, you will always have positive pressure in the intake piping before the TB. If the coupling leaks, then it is leaking metered air and you will run rich. When you remove the SC, then the intake piping is always in a vacuum because of the pressure drop across the filter, and because the air is being sucked into the engine instead of being pushed by the SC. In this case the coupling may seal against the pipe and not leak, resulting in a fine running car.

Yeah - but it works fine under boost with the A32 MAF so
And I've spent hours looking for leaks.....

Good theory tho. Maybe I'll take another look around tonight just to be sure.

OK - I checked those lines - since I'm hitting 14PSI at reldine I didn't think there could be a leak - and it looks like I was right. Not to mention the vacuum looks good, etc....

The SARD Adjustable FPR showed up today. <Thanks Thomas!>

Anyone have a link to a Howto or pics of one installed?
Searching didn't find me a whole lot. And I'm lazy.

The fact that you get 14 psi is proof enough that you don't have a leak. I should have realized that from the beginning.

since you get the stand-off fitting.....

1. unscrew the fpr (i had to make them flat heads with the dremel)
2. Take the fpr out and switch the o-ring to the stand off fitting.
3. Run fuel line to the inlet port of the fpr.
4. Run the outlet line to the fuel return or fmu, depending which system you have.
5. Attach vacuum line to fpr. VOILA!

You can mount it anywhere you want. Mine is next to my fmu.

If it has a gauge port, either plug it or put a gauge there.

Good Luck!

What is inlet and what is outlet on the FPR? Bottom or side?

Which is the standoff fitting? Is that the oval brass bracket that was sent with it?

I can't read japanese - makes me wish I married the Japanese ex-girlfriend!

The inlet is the side and the outlet is the bottom

The standoff fitting looks like a hose barb. looks similar to the one in the lower LH corner.

Lower left of top pic (standard looking hose barb) or the lower left adapter plate looking thing?
