WTB: Stillen 2.5" Charge Pipe

Call me lazy but I want to get this running first and then start to mess with fabbing my own 3" setup. I know lots of you got it laying around. Whats reasonable for it? $70 shipped?

3" would be too much fabbing to redo my setup. i was wondering cuz i just got that 45 degree bend so i can reclock the blower and not have to use the old zx "boot"

Your not making sense bijan. Why would I have to wait for 3"? I'd fab it myself. It would be cheaper but difficult. I want to get this thing running and then start messing with this stuff. BTW, that pic doesn't have a clocked blower as Steve suggested. It has a sharp bend right at the blower outlet.

i got the 45 degree. i reassembled the air to water (which is what i was talking about the difficulty of refabbing) and put the bov back on. will post pics tomorrow afternoon.

Im saying if I were you I'd wait till the 3" was fabbed and done. But I do understand you wana get it running soon. Which way do you want to clock the blower? I think it's a 90* bend and the outlet if Im not mistaking.

Actually, it would probably be a short wait for the 3" since nobody seems to have a Stillen. But the problem with fabbing it myself is that I won't be able to do it till the blower is mounted.

I've always kinda wondered that too. It would seem to me that the increased volume of the 3" piping would reduce pressure. I know people say its to reduce bottlenecking. I don't get that. This is presurized air so it doesn't have the same flow characteristics as normal intake charge or exhaust. Lets get Stephen in here to explain. I know its proven but I wanna know why.

Stephan,

Do you have a link to the EBAY part from the Z of that plastic intake pipe that you used to use on your Inatake when your blower was clocked ??

Dude, could you link directly to that coupling? Will it work with the Stillen piping? This may be the decider as for fabbing it myself.

What one did you buy ?? I would guess 45 degree http://www.automotosports.com/diy_silicone.asp but then again I would think it would need to bend and be flexable to fit

thats the part. i got the 2.5 inch one, but the outlet on the blower is more like 2.66

i got a 2.75 to 2.5 adapter, putting 2.5 piping, that 45 degree bend and then going to the rest of the piping.

good luck
Steve

well the compressor outlet is 2.75 so you are going to have to fabb something up. they do sell the 3" silicone coupling.

Hey sleeper, sorry for blowing you off earlier if thats what it seemed like to you. Powdercoat can be roughed up and painted over pretty easily; right? I may be interested. $115 shipped sounds good to me since its yellow. Does that include the post-MAF 3" piece? I need that too. Although I imagine it doesn't since only the pre-MAF section is different for the 5th gens.

What should I fab to make the 3" coupling work on the 2.75" outlet of the blower ?

the "rigged" method...
get a 2.75 straight coupler...sleeve that over the outlet of the charger...cut it flush with the outlet of the blower. that should give you about .25...then sleeve your 3" coupler over the 2.75 coupler and that would give it a decent fit. make sure you use a t-bolt clamp.
