Auto's and Turbo boost..
I recall everyone saying a Auto wouldn't handle the power of a turbo but a Supercharger is okay...
but then I see on the sponsors site main page "97 Maxima GXE Automatic featuring EA designed prototype turbo kit v2.0" so either you can run a automagic or they have bullet proofed theirs?

That's my car, and not the auto hasn't been bulletproofed. Stock tranny, VB mod, tranny cooler, and a prototype LSD we did. Everything else is stock.
I fully expect the transmission to blow up on me at some point, I just want to see what that limit is. I'm swapping the motor out right now because I had blow by issues, so when the new motor is in, we're taking the boost up in the hopes of 400whp. We'll see if the tranny holds that kind of power. The car daily drives and has seen quite a few drag passes. So far, I can't see any adverse effects on the tranny. It still shifts cleanly, no slippage, fluid looks good.
It's been boosted for about 35K now. Had the SC kit for a while, and now the turbo.
Ground clearance is a *****, but we're trying to redo all the piping to get it to work. And I really would not recommend people to go and turbo their autos unless they go in knowing that at some point, something is going to fail. I don't expect my tranny to survive forever, and am ready to replace it if necessary. But I'd hate to see someone get a turbo, blow up their tranny and then not have the money to replace it.
