ahhh the memories. Looking good. Have you test fitted the reverse y-pipe yet? How close is the feed pipe to the tranny?

How is the turbo mounted in the engine bay?....kinda looks like your using the same battery tray bolt hole that I used.

keep us updated.

BTW that's a nice garage setup there. Is that a shop or someone's house?

Yea, Im making the whole thing myself, the actual y section is warpspeeds chopped at the collector, and Ive just been measuring and welding bends onto it from summit. The turbo is mounted just with some scrap metal I had laying around, but I bought angle iron and im going to use that to make a bracket that I can disconnect from if ever needed.
There is decent clearence fromt he tranny, probably 1/2-1 inches under it where the flex pipe is and 2 inched on the side.
The place is actually my school... Wyotech, Im going their for automotive technology and now im in my elective class of Chassis Fabrication and High Performance engine. My project to graduate is turbocharging the max. I also just got done making tube frame rails for a 1932 ford roadster.

its a .50 compressor and .63 exhaust

that .63 AR compressor is going to choke up top. Too small!! .7? or .81 would have been better. You will spool up faster on low end.

lookin good, im hoping to start work on a custom kit by the end of the summer after i get all the bugs worked out and all my questions answered. just put the mevi in in preparation although i havent wired it yet. im waiting on ash to finish that new ecu setup for the 4th gen max, if its anything like the 300zx ones it should be a killer set up. ive got a couple of questions while you guys are on turbos. considering the mevi and hopefully a raised rev limit should i be looking at a turbo with both turbine and compressor sides larger than .63 so it doesnt die in the top end, or should just the compresser side be larger (ive never quite figured out what effects what yet although im still researching). Any opinions would help. Thanks.

Yeah that's a pretty small A/R especially on a T3, but as long as you are planning on upgrading it soon it will not be that bad to start out I guess. But yeah Jaime and others are right, you are going to choke up top really really bad with that. Will still be faster than without the turbo though
