Problems with Emanage?

ive been hearing some bad stuff about tuning timing with the emanage. is there anyone that has successfully retarded timing with the emanage? ive heard things about frying the coils or something when some people tried it. if the emange doesnt work for timing would the j and s safeguard help? Also, with out the timing tune of the emanage, would it just be better to save money and get a safc or something? any suggestions would be great. thanks!

I'm retarded with emanage all day every day. You have to get the proper diodes or you will fry your coils.

J&S will ALWAYS be superior to emanage for retardation though.
