Supercharged/Turbocharged The increase in air/fuel pressure above atmospheric pressure in the intake system caused by the action of a supercharger or turbocharger attached to an engine.

Interesting JWT discovery.

Interesting JWT discovery.

For weeks now my car has been stinky rich at idle, especially when cold - and I was playing with the SAFC the other day.....

With the 370cc Injectors, A32 ECU and A32 MAF - if I change the Sensor Type on the AFC to Z32 MAF - it runs perfectly and even gives me a little more headroom before I start leaning out up top.....

Makes me think all JWT does when they program the 370cc Injector program is change the ECU's input for the MAF to Z32 Programming, "translating" the A32 MAF signal into lower signal output for the 370's to be controlled without too much richness.

Thus the reason it works so well with the AFC set to Z32 in/out.....because it IS Z32 in/out.

We all know that the Z32 MAF Naturally Asprirated + 370cc Injectors runs fine also....so that makes this even more interesting.

Just a theory, of course - but she's running great now and EGT's are perfect, peaking at about 1350 at full boost in 3rd gear.

awesome find. If i have trouble with my z32 maf and 410's, I may try to play with this setting too.

can you write out the tree for what you did?

Well, this is with the A32 MAF - I can't get the Z32 MAF + Z32 Program+ 370's to work well on my car at all, no matter what I have my SAFC set to.

New addition to my discovery.

I noticed after setting the A32 MAF + 370cc JWT Program to "Z32 Type" on my SAFC that I seemed to have some more top end.

I did a peak test on the AFC and now I'm hitting 100% airflow at 6800 RPM instead of 6000.....which means I'm not leaning out like I was before until I hit 6800 - thereby giving me more power.

Neat little trick for me since I can't seem to get the JWT MAF to work on my car.

I would not trust that it doesn't mean your leaning out. The SAFC could be calculating the % airfllow differently but the ECU could not getting any different signals than before. It's like two different boost gauges, one reading in PSI and one reading in Hkpa. Same boost different readings

Oh - I also forgot to add that my EGT's are 100 degrees lower under full boost than they were. The voltage signal from the MAF starts lower at idle under the Z32 setting also - so it's not just a translated percentage thing.

LM-1 to be installed shortly.

The EGT thing makes it more possible.

Yeah - I know a little bit about boost. <j/k>

I'll have more solid results of course when the LM-1 gets installed.

Not saying that.....just saying that I it makes more sense with other data backing it up

Oh yeah - this was a while ago.

LM-1 monitoring proved I was smoking crack.

Got the Z32 MAF working a while ago (see stickies) - car hauls butt and is never rich at idle anymore.
