Few questions on maitence

Im looking at boosteds car still but 2 Da Max has kind of got me thinking about the car if its worth it or not. Jay told me the cars set up as a daily driver running 4 psi. When he poped the hood and i saw the turbo i know there was steam or smoke comming from the turbo is that normal? Heres a link of everything on the car http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=424074

1) i was just wondering what kind of maitence i should do regulary on the car
2) what else should i look for when i look at the car again beside normal stuff on n/a, like is there anything to look for on the turb or piping.
3) is it necessary to get a compression check on the car.
4) i know it had a cel jay told me that it was something to do with air/fuel ratios since he didnt have a a/f controller at all. i had forgotten to take a screwdriver when i drove the car to check myself.

There might be other things just let me know ill keep reading and if i decide to get the car ill be sure to donate to get the search. If i get the car ill need to get a boost controller, j&s safeguard, and ill prob just get the emange while im at it so that way it will be tuned i know that helps out alot. At first ill jsut want to run low psi like 4-6 maybe 8 just so i get used to everything and learn even more. Thanks for any help.

You don't need J&S if you are going to run low boost like that. J&S is nice to have but it's definately not necessary at that low boost lvl.

No it's not normal for smoke or steam or anything to come from the turbo.

Might want to check the feedback forum, some people appear to have had some problems with this guy. Probably want to make sure their problems got sorted out before you go buying a car from him.

yea i know about his feedback that was another thing that had me concerned. especially since when i first looked at the car he told me that the next things on the list were the j&s and the emange but then when i talked to the guy that worked on his car he showed the pics with that all installed. So im kinda confused on what to do i really want a quicker car then mine, especially if its turbo i love the way it sounds. When i drove his car it was very smooth boost started around 3300rpms if i remember. Ok so if this turbo is steaming do you think that i would have to buy a new turbo? Thanks for you help

I don't have a clue why its steaming/smoking so I don't know if it needs to be replaced.

As far as J&S he sold a J&S a few weeks back, I remember looking at the thread and considering it. Sounds a little fishy to me.

Ha ha, he's been trying to sell that car forever now! A smoking turbo is deffinetly NOT normal... could be a sign of problems to come... I'd stay away if I were you, unless you have some money to invest in it if anything goes wrong.
