I got my car to the track with some decent tires finally, a set of ET streets that I30tMikeD let me borrow. Being as it was my first time running this car at the track on sticky tires I elected to launch it nicely at first. I launched at 4000rpm which resulted in a big bog, 2.11 60' time. Ran that out to a bleh 12.68 @ 113.52. Since it bogged so badly on that run I got greedy on the next and fried the clutch, launching at 5500ish which wrecked the clutch and resulted in a less crappy but still crappy 1.95 60', but the clutch wouldn't hold the rest of the run, so I ended up just letting off at about 1000 feet, ran a 12.89 @ 100mph. I was shifting at 6000rpm on the first run, 2nd run was all over the place from the clutch slipping.

Before this weekend my previous best had been 13.10 @ 115mph on all seasons, same boost level.

Mike sucks at videotaping and managed to forget to press the record button on my first run, so all he got was my 2nd run which was crap anyways

Now, among other things, I've got to figure out a new clutch solution, this was on 12psi, higher boost is pointless even from a roll right now.

Weather at the track was awesome 63 degrees, 30.32inHg, 37% humidity, 16mph gusting to 21mph direct headwind was no good for the trap speed though.

I richened it up some and was running 10.8-11.2 at WOT, pulling 8 degrees timing over stock.

Nice times even though the clutch was fried on the second run.
What clutch are you running? Was that a straight clutch dump or you feathered out?
Hopefully next spring you'll have everything fixed and ready for the 11s

It was the same way I have always launched on slicks sortof halfway between slipping and dumping.

Thanks bags.

jcy it's a clutchnet 6 puck sprung hub disk and an act PP, I don't know the clamping force of the ACT PP but after looking at their website it looks like they only have three PP options, and since my clutch has such a light pedal feel I'm going to assume it's the HD (the lowest clamping force PP they have).

With a new clutch setup I'm going to definately be getting a higher clamping force PP, going to explore options as to PP and disc combinations. I'd like to get away from the 6 puck and get back to a full disk if possible without having to be Hercules to push in the clutch. Ideally you want to have a more aggressive PP and less aggressive disk to reduce the stress and shock your transmission sees.

Those are some nice times for 12psi....Congrats

let us know what clutch setup you will be running once you figure it out. I would like to know what setup can hold the most.

Also could you post the vid of your second run? I would just like to see your car in action

I will see if brian will rip it off his camera some time. I also got video of me running down a new SRT-8 Dodge Magnum on the highway after we left the track and a video of my speedometer in 3rd and 4th gear. Those SRT-8s are fast, there was one at the track that went 13.2 @ 108.

Neil, I just got my new ACT set up. I had a custom MaxExtreme setup made. here is the DL on the ACT when using their six puck solid hub.

HD has 2260 lbs of clamping force
XT has 2700 lbs and is rated to 576 ftlbs aty the crank
XX has 3200 lbs and is rated to 667 ftlbs.

Other than gettin a $$$$ dual or tripple made the XX MaxExtreme is the best option IMHO. Yes its a solid hub six puck and starting off is a biotch, but it actually chatters less than the sprung hub. If you went with the XX PP and their organic disc I think the tq rating goes down to ~550at the crank. And in the world you and I are living it I didnt think that was good enough. Also dont forget that if you slip an organic disc your day is done and more than likley the disk is toast too. The metalic disc will reseat after a little street driving cleans the glaze off of it. On my drive to work this morning the XX set up was ok, it is heavier than the clutch net but not too bad, time will tell.

Matt thanks for that info on the clutch, I hadn't thought of the metallic vs organic glaze issue. So you now have an ACT 6 puck solid hub disk, and you ditched the clutchnet setup entirely, correct?

So is the ACT XX PP something you have to custom order for our cars? Because I plan on upgrading my clutch this spring.

Wow that is one strong top end. 4.3 seconds for the second 1/8 mile.

How do the ET streets hold up? Is the diameter hurting your times?
