Blower Removal

Well I have been enjoying my new SC 2k1 AE for a little over 2000 miles now and love it. But when i got it about a month ago i noticed the sc belt had jumped over and shredded a rib. I loosened the idler pully and noticed the belt was quite loose so i am hoping that was the only reason it almost self destructed. I re-routed the belt and it has not jumped since after properly tightening it. I need to change the belt though and i know i have to remove the whole blower assembly. Are there any problems i might run into? How long should it take? I am thinking about going with a 3.33 pully while i have it off but i'll let you know.

If you found that the belt was loose then that would be the reason for the jumping. You have to tighten the belt so that when you'll won't be able to twist it sideways more than 90 degrees. Even with one rib missing you'll be able to drive it safely still. I've done it before.

It takes me almost 4 hours to take it off and put it back on. If you're going to swap out the pulley make sure you have a pulley puller on hand just in case it refuses to slide off.

Btw, I would change the belt at the same time as the pulley swap. Make sure you have the right belt size.
