Rebuild Vortex SC
Rebuild Vortex SC
How many have had to rebuild and had to do the complete rebuild, due to cold start up (according to Vortex)
I had a complete V2 rebuild with a aftermarket BOV and it was blamed on cold starts and starving the sc of oil. (I really don't think so)

What would the bov have to do with startup, and it being cold out ?? Ive started my car many a times in almost sub-zero temps with my vortech bov and no problems. The oil makes it there, just as fast as the top of the motor. I dont see it being a problem

I think he is trying to figure out if the SCs are needing to be rebuilt because of oil starvation due to low tempuratures (Vortech's theory) or because of compressor surge due to too tight aftermarket BOVs (LatinMax's and the org's theory).
I would definitely go with the BOV theory unless their is proof of some kind of oil starvation problem.

Btw, what brand oil are you using?
the option I went with isnt available. I went from a V1 S-trim to a V1 T-trim.
-yes it will make more boost with the same pulley
-yes more torque
-yes its loud as all he11
-is it worth it? yes if you are looking for the most power from a SC'ed car
Thats all I can offer for now.

I need to rebuild. I'm leaking a lot of oil (1 full quart every 3k), probably from a bunch of places, but definately from the underside of the supercharger unit. BTW, I'm running Mobil1 10w30 synthetic.

I thought we could trade our v2's for a t trim for the same price u guys trade ure v1's to a t trim. is there a price difference?
