Have a question for MEVI guys.

I was looking over my engine bay yesterday for any type of leaks and I keep on hearing this hissing leak like sound comin from behind the MEVI, now I dont know if thats normal but I dont recall hearing that noise there before and im thinking this is the culprit to me running rich as hell and it being sh!tty. So to you guys with a MEVI, do you have a hassing sound coming from behind or from inside your MEVI system at all? I know if I put my ear upto the top part of where the butterlies are I can hear hising coming from somewhere and its quite loud. Ill try and get some video of the hissing.

No hissing on mine. if it was a vaccum leak it would have a real hard time idling. Try and get a video of it

My idle fluctuates a tad bit, but the hissing is so loud and im pretty sure I have not heard it before. Also I stated in another thread but ill re-ask the question here, is tehre anyway to test coilpacks?

check your fuel injector, and just spray some throttlebody fluid(around where you hear the hiss) to see if the engines raises if so its a leak.

You'll pull your hair out trying to test the packs. The best/easiest thing to do is swap with a set of known-good packs. Hopefully you have a local friend with a Maxi.

To me from what you've described it sounds like you have a vacuum leak in one of the hoses that connect to the MEVI.

The hissing is throwing me off, it sounds as if its coming out from the back of the mevi where I cant see, or its coming from inside the mevi. Dont know . Also what do you mean if the enige raises, you mean the prm's?

As you spray on the TB cleaner along the injectors and gaskets, if the engine recovers kinda, hickups, thats where your vacuum leak is.
